Smothered Pork Chop Scalloped Potato Casserole

This smothered pork chop scalloped potato casserole is a hearty and comforting dish perfect for family dinners or special occasions. Tender pork chops are smothered in a creamy sauce and baked with layers of thinly sliced potatoes and onions, then topped with melted cheddar cheese for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions:

Warm the oven up to 190C 375F

Put olive oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat

Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika can be used to season pork chops

For about three to four minutes on each side, brown the pork chops in the pan

Take it out and set it aside

Put butter and flour in the same pan

Stir the food all the time until it turns golden brown

Slowly add the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring all the time until the mixture gets thick

In a greased casserole dish, arrange slices of potatoes and onions

Pour the cream mix over the onions and potatoes

On top of the potatoes, put the pork chops that have been browned

Put foil over it and bake for 45 minutes

Take off the foil and cover the pork chops with shredded cheese

Bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese melts and bubbles

Add chopped parsley as a garnish before serving
